We are in a pivotal time for confronting environmental problems and developing the institutions, norms, and policies necessary to create the communities and world we want to live in. The Master of Arts (MA) in Environmental Policy prepares students to act on the challenges presented by climate change, loss of biodiversity, urbanization, and environmental pollution. The program’s interdisciplinary coursework covers the legal and political structures that do (or might) oversee, regulate, manage, subsidize, or otherwise affect environmental sustainability, environmental inequity, and environmental health. It also teaches students about the social practices, political authority and economic dynamics that can affect interventions. Coursework develops students’ skills in critical thinking and policy analysis. Pragmatic skills are developed through independent research and community-based projects and internships.
