Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG)

LUAG is Lehigh’s free, public art museum for all! Lehigh University Art Galleries cares for a permanent collection of over 20,000 works spanning many cultures and historical periods, including an outdoor collection of 56 sculptures located throughout Lehigh’s campus. Beyond the walls of its main galleries inside Zoellner Art Center, LUAG extends its reach through rotating exhibitions in five additional gallery spaces on campus and on public billboards lining the South Bethlehem Greenway.

Opportunities abound for students in all disciplines to gain valuable experiential learning at LUAG. From participating in the Student Advisory Committee to undertaking internships, work-study positions, and volunteer roles, students can contribute to exhibition development, program facilitation, collections management, and even art conservation and acquisition. The interdisciplinary "LUAG Lab", located inside the main galleries, provides a distinct space for students to experience the full process of curating and presenting their own exhibitions and research. For those with a deeper interest, a Minor in Museum Studies is offered through the Department of Art, Architecture and Design, providing direct engagement with the museum’s professional staff.

As LUAG approaches its centennial in 2026, marking 100 years of art at Lehigh, all are invited to become part of the museum’s rich history and exciting future. The museum’s centennial celebration will launch in Fall 2025 with a special juried exhibition entitled, Here & Now: 100 Years of LUAG, 100 Local Artists – and continues with special programming throughout the 2026 academic year.

LUAG invites visitors to explore, reflect, and connect with art – and with one another – through exhibitions, free art experiences, dynamic programming, and meaningful art education for learners of all ages. With a commitment to making our collection and exhibitions inclusive and accessible both in person and online, Lehigh University Art Galleries serves as a cultural resource for campus, the greater Lehigh Valley, and beyond.
